Meet Neil
After working in the city for many years I decided I wanted a complete change in both lifestyle and career.
Training and teaching in Martial arts and competing in triathlons including London and Blenheim, I had my fair share of injuries.
Having spent plenty of time in and out of treatment rooms, it wasn’t until I was referred by a friend to my soft tissue therapist ( Sports Massage Therapist ) that I realised the importance of hands on treatment and began to appreciate the skills, knowledge and full understanding of the human body that my therapist had.
I decided this is what I wanted to do and so I took a course in Soft Tissue Therapy at the LSSM under Mel Cash and his very knowledgeable teachers. I came away full of confidence and with a BTEC level 5 qualification in Soft Tissue Therapy.
I now work privately with clients from both sport and non-sporting background and I am looking forward to helping as many people I can to achieve a full and active lifestyle.

Sports massage and Marathon Training
As you start to increase your mileage leading up to your marathon, you’ll notice some fatigue in your muscles, some tightness which can lead to lack of flexibility, DOMS( Delayed onset muscle soreness) which can all have an effect on your training.
You should implement Sports massage as an important part of your marathon training, it should be just as important as your easy run, your long run, speed sessions and interval training.
There are many benefits of Sports Massage to ensure you achieve your goal of 26.219 miles.
Improve flexibility: Allowing you to stretch more efficiently and increase your range of motion in order to achieve an injury free training programme.
Increase the flow of blood and oxygen to your muscles: Increasing muscular energy, reducing muscle fatigue – DOMS and maintaining strong and healthy muscles thus avoiding injury. Increasing your levels of stamina and endurance, improving performance and allowing your body to recover more quickly.
Injury prevention : By detecting any short, tight muscles, checking stretching and mobilisation techniques and fine tuning these to achieve good stretching practice to help keep you on track and prevent further injury.
Injury treatment: If you do pick up any injuries during your training, as a level 5 qualified Sports Massage and Soft Tissue Therapist, I am able to fully assess any issues you have and use various techniques( not just “Deep Tissue”!! ) to treat you appropriately and give you a programme of active, functional exercises and help you with any stretching techniques to help you build strength, regain mobility, flexibility and confidence to help you achieve a speedy recovery and get you to the start AND finish of your race.

Myofascial Release Weekend 13th-14th Oct
A great course helping me to further my skills and be more specific in the Assessment and Treatment of clients.
This weekend was Pelvis and Trunk, which gives me more of an understanding on how to evaluate both the static posture and dynamic action of the spine, ribs and pelvis through observation and palpation.Through this, I can use the Myofascial release techniques that I am constantly learning, to improve the local position and movement of each joint and as a result the overall posture and function of the client.
A big thank you to Alex Fugallo for teaching and sharing his knowledge.
