My calves are always tight?
It can be used for a more localized stretching of the muscle. When muscles are tight and shortened, a general stretch may help but it is covering a broad area of the tissues. In fact, it may only stretch the muscles that are more pliable and not the intended targeted muscle that is tight. STR also helps to release fascia tension that has built up around these areas and so enabling the body to achieve more flexibilty. It can be used on chronic conditions where all the scarring and fibrous adhesions have built up over time, and post-acute conditions.
STR is a very versatile technique and can be included with any general massage, on it’s own, through clothing, post/pre-event and even track side.
